Strong Towns

The Duluth Citizen's Initiative is proud to host a Strong Towns Local Conversation Group. This group studies the pattern of North American development that was brought about post WW2, a radical departure from traditional neighborhood design and development. Strong towns refers to this current era as The Suburban Experiment.

About Us

The Duluth Citizen's Initiative exists to provide a place for Duluthians to discuss, ideate, and dream of ways to promote human flourishing in our city. Our goal is to discuss projects that would decrease auto-dependency and promote human-scale development, bringing health and wealth to our community. We focus on educating ourselves on our city's issues from every angle, and forming a coherent plan for action. We love our town and only want to make it better. Duluth is an old place, built on generations of advancement through dedicated and passionate citizens. We seek to further that advance.
